Makers Valley Partnership’s Food Security programme is based on miraculous Change Making partnerships. This story is about one of our key partners, MASKS4GOOD, founded as a Social Enterprise by Kathy Berman. Kathy says that all her life she has worked at the ‘nexus of culture and community’, so when COVID-19 hit South Africa she realised that there would be a great need for protection against transmission, especially in crowded communities. MASKS4GOOD is a classic social enterprise: community seamstresses and tailors are paid to make masks which are sold to those who can afford to pay for them. For every mask sold, MASKS4GOOD donates one or more masks to people unable to pay.
